BENEDETTA PARAVIA
Obtained her law degree from “La Sapienza” University, Rome, in 2002. From 2004 to 2006 she was a managing partner at Al Wasata Marketing Consulting FZ LLC, a consulting company specialising in investments and business start-up in the United Arab Emirates, with its registered office in Dubai. During the period 2004-2006, she also worked sporadically as a freelance journalist swith various magazines and daily newspapers such as Europe Economy, Sicurezza, La Città di Salerno, AGL Espresso, l’Espresso and Jumeirah Beach Magazine Dubai.
In 2005, under the mandate of the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of the Economy, she organised and presented the “UAE/Italy Economic Partnership Forum” at the Fiera Milano Conference Centre. In 2005, the Fondazione IME (Istituto Mediterraneo di Ematologia - the Mediterranean Institute of Haematology) made her its Promoter/Agent for the Middle East in relation to its International Project to fight thalassaemia. Since 2005, she has been Project Manager of “The Intercultural Project”. This is an international training project for students from the Persian Gulf frequenting SDOA (Scuola di Direzione ed Organizzazione Aziendale – School of Business Management and Organisation) set up by the Antonio Genovesi Salerno Foundation, of which she is also a founding member. (“The Intercultural Project” has received the “Certificate of Equivalence” from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in both the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman).
Since 2006, she has been director of “The U.A.E. Students’ Conference for Media”, the only conference allowing Emirates students direct access to the media in order to voice their experiences and opinions of the national training programme. Since 2006 she has been Marketing Director of and songwriter for the ethical music project, Princess Bee Music, which destines 50% of its artistic proceeds to the Not-for-Profit Organization A.N.G.E.L.S.
In 2008, she co-founded the Not-for-Profit Organization A.N.G.E.L.S. – Associazione Nazionale Giovani Energie Latrici di Solidarietà (National Association of Young Energy Leading Solidarity), which provides treatment in Italy for sick children coming from the world’s war zones or where there are no appropriate hospitals for the forms of treatment needed. She has been the Association’s Vice-President and Spokesperson ever since.

GIACOMO FRATI
Graduated High School in 1993 at High School Dante Alighieri in Rome, in 1999 he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome La Sapienza and then he has concluded with successfully the advanced course in London and got specialized in Cardiac Surgery at Policlinico Le Scotte - University of Siena.
Since 2011, he is Professor in the Department of Science and surgical Biotechnologies, University "Sapienza" - Polo Pontino in Latina and Scientific Director of "non-profit organization Future Research", Member of the Scientific Council of the Italian Foundation Heart and Circulation, Manager of Cell-Factory University Sapienza (Polo Pontino) and coordinator of the program "Regenerative Medicine" at the Sapienza University (Polo Pontino). Since 2011 is Coordinator of the course of Integrated Medical-Surgical Pathology IntegrataI and Professor MED/50 of "Sciences medical techniques applied" in the I ^ Faculty of Medicine, University of Rome La Sapienza, Policlinico Umberto I, integrated course of Emergency Medical Surgical.

He has been co-author-author of 90 scientific papers focused mainly on three areas:
a) the study of biological factors associated with cardiovascular disease conditions;
b) the study of cellular and molecular biological factors associated with cardiovascular pathological conditions and cell biotechnology be used for therapeutic purposes (including: embryonic and adult cardiac stem cells - see patent RM2003A000376 31.07.2003 Giacomello A, Messina E, Battaglia F, Frati G, the patent application is being developed with the Division of Cardiology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md.);
c) the study of technologies and methodologies applicable to medical and therapeutic problems heart / heart surgery, including the possibility of using biotechnology in cell replacement therapies for cardiovascular cell damage (cardiac stem cells in various animal models, isolation and expansion of adult stem cells human, mouse, pig, xenotransplantation from animals transgenic for inhibitors of the complement cascade).
